Founder & Licensed Importer
Meet the Founder
James grew up in Turkey. He completed his military service at NATO SHAPE, earned a degree in International Relations, and served as a Liaison Officer with the U.N.
His first step into the defense and firearms industry was at an ammunition components manufacturer in Izmir, where he started in quality control and grew into foreign trade, business development, and international sales across shotgun shells, pistol ammunition, and rifle components. From there, he moved to an ammunition manufacturer in Istanbul, deepening his experience in small caliber ammunition and building out the business development side from scratch.
What made those years especially valuable was that he was already handling U.S. import work from Turkey. He managed ATF permit applications, dealt with customs compliance, and kept up steady relationships with U.S. dealers, distributors, and end users from the other side of the Atlantic. The paperwork, the timelines, the regulatory friction: he learned all of it before he ever arrived in the United States.
When he made the move to the U.S., he earned his NRA Firearms Instructor and Range Safety Officer certifications to stay connected to the hands-on side of the industry. He also led business development for the startup team that completed Turkey’s first ballistic product export to the United States.
Over more than 10 years working between Turkey, the United States, and partner markets across Europe, he has navigated ATF processes, permit applications, trade shows, account management, and the full cycle of international business development. He started Red Rock Imports LLC because he wanted to offer that experience as a service, not just a resume line.
